2007 was supposed to be the year of mobile. 2007 came and went and mobile didn't really build up to what is was expected. The iPhone, however, revolutionized the mobile industry and its effect can be seen in the change of mobile consumer behavior and mobile marketing (Landrover iPhone specific campaign campaigns yielded higher click-through rates than their main internet campaigns. Studies show that the more than 1 million iPhone users are much more likely to surf the web than smart phone users). So 2008 will be the true year of mobile. In 2008 we are going to see true mobile content consumption and mobile social networking become a norm. Also, one third of Tweens have cell phones, according to this eMarketer article. http://www.emarketer.com/Article.aspx?id=1005691&src=dp1_newsltr

These kids are not playing around with their gadgets. They are sharing, downloading and buying content, surfing the web, etc. As more and more people begin to adopt iPhone like behavior, you're going to see mobile marketing pick up exponentially.

Another trend: Video conferencing. Seesmic, ooVoo and them. This will become mainstream in 2008. It goes hand in hand with mobile since we can record videos with our phones.
