McAfee to Help Secure Yahoo Search

Yahoo has announced SearchScan, the product of a new partnership with McAfee, which will warn users of websites that present potential security risks.  McAfee technology will automatically be incorporated into Yahoo searches, and any suspicious sites will flagged with a red letter warning.

Google launched a similar project last year, and has been generally regarded as a “safer” option. Not surprisingly, McAfee executives are predicting that Yahoo will jump past the competition in the next annual McAfee report that ranks the relative safety of search engines.
